About the Councillor

Educator. Leader. Advocate.

Councillor Crista Carlino was sworn in on January 1st, 2020, and serves on the council through 2023. She is the youngest woman ever elected to the city council, and currently sits on the Administration & Finance, Parks & Recreation, and Public Works Committees.

Crista is a graduate of Ben Davis High School, Class of 2005. She earned her Bachelors degree in English and Psychology from the University of Indianapolis in 2009. Since 2009, Crista has served as a public educator across the city of Indianapolis. She is the Media Specialist at Ben Davis University High School, a former member of the Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees, and is the elected Precinct Committee Chairwoman of Wayne-11 until 2022. She is married to Charlie Carlino, and they have one daughter together.


Crista and her family are life-long residents of the West side, and are passionate about the community that grew them. As council woman, Mrs. Carlino is an advocate for the district in ways that haven't been addressed in over a decade. Crista would love to hear from you!
